Berry

Berry is a character in the episode Dream Terror and Just a Neighbors 2.

History

Pretty Blood: Dream Terror

In the beginning scene of "Dream Terror", Berry along with five other students are shown being taught in a classroom, each having a specific talent they excel at, with Berry's being the piano.
Many years later, Berry has become a famous pianist, playing at huge shows.
At some point however, she got into the crosshairs of Eluca, getting kidnapped by him. Eluca, the serial torturer he is, seeks to incapacitate entertainers, by mutilating the very body parts they need for their job. With Berry being a pianist, he brutally slashes her hands many times, so she can no longer play the piano. Before being let go, and with that we mean dumped onto a street somewhere, Berry's mind gets wiped, in order to prevent her from being a witness. She later is found injured and unconscious, and is quickly taken to a hospital, where she makes a recovery, although remaining armless.
Berry couldn't live with her new condition which prevented her from living her life as a pianist, and tragically ends her suffering by jumping off the hospital's rooftop, dying due to the fatal impact with the ground.

Just a Neighbors 2

Berry makes a brief appearance in Kling's beginning monologue, in which he uses her suffering in "Dream Terror" as an example.

Appearance

Berry is an orange squirrel malino with gray eyes. She wears a pink dress with a white heart, white stripe and white musical notes. She also wears a purple flower on top of her head that is also semi covering her blonde hair and ponytail.

Personality

Not much can be said regarding Berry's personality, due to her low screen time. However, since at a very young age she appears to be very passionate and quite enthusiastic when it comes to playing the piano, much to the point of her taking her own life when Eluca ultimately dismembers her arms, as it prevented her from playing. This may or may not imply that Berry herself has been going through some form of emotional turmoil, thus seeing the piano as her only means of escape from reality; when it was gone, so was her will to live.

Trivia

  • Berry is one of the only two characters in the series to die by suicide, with the other one being Lilly's mother.
